INTRODUCTION Thomas Jefferson was an American founding father and was the principal author of the declaration of independence. He was the third president of the United States from 1801 to 1809. But before all this Thomas Jefferson was born in Albemarle County during 1743. He studied at the College of William and Mary and in 1772 he married Martha skelton. In 1785, Thomas Jefferson succeeded Benjamin Franklin as minister to France. He gradually assumed leadership of the Republican party and soon became a candidate for president in 1796.When Jefferson won the election, the crisis in France had already passed.During his presidency, Jefferson cut the budget, reduced the national debt by a third, and cut army and navy expenditures. Years went by and finally on April the 30th in 1812 the first of many to be carved states was admitted into the union as the 18th U.S state. As time progressed other states were soon created including Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. This was undoubtedly Jefferson’s greatest accomplishment. Thomas Jefferson lived a full life all the way up until July the 4th in 1826. In January,7 months before he died, he wrote “the state of my health ... it is now 3 weeks since a severe attack of diarrhea and difficulty urinating has confined me to the house and indeed to my couch. required to be constantly recumbent I write slowly and with difficulty. yesterday for the 1st time I was able to leave the house and to resume a posture which enables me to begin to answer the letters which have been accumulating.” He died at the age of 83 because of a variety of symptoms, which include: Old age, Pneumonia, Intense diarrhea, and kidney infection. The kidney infection later caused kidney damage which may have caused a kidney failure.We will forever remember Thomas Jefferson for what he has done for this wonderful and constantly progressing
