I think Truman Capote chose to place this quote into the story allowing the reader to see all of the options and possibilities. When this statement was made, it was talking about the mood swings of Mrs. Bonnie Clutter and how no one ever knew what was going to happen. No one could control if she had a good or bad day, or if she was going to make it out of bed that morning. I think it is beautifully written and Capote’s choice of clouds fit well. We never know what the clouds are going to do; if they will give us sunshine, shade, rain, snow, sleet, hail, warmth, or coolness. This is exactly how Mrs. Clutter was, because you never knew what she was going to throw at you that day.
