The idea of this situation is that a father’s job is to take care of his son whenever he needs him. Mary Shelley’s was trying to make us understand where Frankenstein side of the story is coming from. This is the same as saying cause and effect because in order for something bad to happen there is always an origin of how everything started. In this case, Victor had a huge responsibility of bringing Frankenstein in this world. In addition, Victor said mean things about the creature that was uncalled for and unnecessary. In Mary Shelley’s book, Frankenstein, Victor stated, “I must pursue and destroy the being to which I gave existence; then my lot on earth will be full-filed, and I may die.” Frankenstein feels meaningless in the beginning because he was created by someone who didn’t even care for him. At first he was a good creature, he helped people. For example, he helped carry the big wood for a family. He never got a thank you, instead when that family saw him they try to kill him. The idea was that this part relates to John Milton’s Paradise Lost. When the creature recites from the book when he was expressing how he really felt for Victor. Mary Shelley’s was saying Victor is god and Frankenstein is the son. This brings back how God created Adam and Eve and how he kicked them out of the gates of heaven. The reason that they were kicked out was because they were tempted by the snake to eat the fruit from the forbidden tree. Adam and Eve were in most critics’ eye that God had abandoned them. In addition, Victor created Frankenstein then tries to get rid of him because of the way he looks. Frankenstein never understood why Victor was doing the things that he does. An article stated, “The failure of human beings to ““parent”” their offspring in such a way that they will be able to take part in society rather than retreat into themselves.” In order for Frankenstein to get Victor attention, he started to kill people one by one. But they weren’t just any people; those were the one that matters to Victor the most. God and man relate to Victor and Frankenstein in many ways because the idea of the creator abandoning their creation.
