In the New West, True West Donald Worster looks at the west as a region of the united states. As opposed to many that have thought about the west as something that occurred in the States during one point in time. Worster makes points such as looking at the uniqueness of the region to differentiate it. In the chapter, Worster informs the reader that he has sought a lot of knowledge on the west. Although, he finds that there is no clear or precise definition as to where the west is. He states, “The west is “movement,” “expansion,” the “frontier,” they all say, and apparently any kind of movement, any expansion, and any frontier will do” (Worster, 22).
