Two books that I have read in the past two years that have influenced my thinking along the four ideals of NHS are The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, and Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. The Canterbury Tales have influenced my thinking because it is a story mainly about character. It is about a man who lives a double life. One life living in the country as his true self with his birth given name; and the other as a high-class wealthy man with a different name. He lives both lives in order to go between whichever life he chooses whenever he chooses.
