Tom was obviously very upset that Daisy had never told him about her and Gatsby’s past. This made Tom furious at Gatsby and eventually led to Gatsby’s death because of his hatred. “By telling Carraway that he informed Wilson who the car belonged to, Buchanan reveals his active role in Gatsby's holocaust(Lena Albert).” Tom Buchanan knew and accepted the fact that if he told George Wilson that it was Gatsby’s car that hit Myrtle then something bad would happen to Gatsby. Tom was jealous of Gatsby because he had it all when it came money and resources. When Gatsby told to Tom that he was going for Daisy and that she never loved him, Tom knew that he needed to do something when he could get a chance. Gatsby puts Tom into a position where he has to choose upon whether he is going to basically let Gatsby be murdered or lose his wife. That is a situation that no person wants to be in, and of course because of the hatred that Tom had for Gatsby at that point he obviously chose his wife over Gatsby. Gatsby also put Nick into a bad situation because Nick had to basically babysit Gatsby because he was doing such crazy things and was too love obsessed. Nick tried to warn Gatsby that going for Daisy again isn’t such a good idea, but Gatsby being the arrogant person he is does not listen to
