It has been argued for years who the best US president to ever serve was. The hard thing about finding out who the true "best president" was is that all of them have done different things that benefited the US and its citizens. Another hard thing about it is that everyone has their own opinion and may times they differ from one another. However, I personally believe that the best US president to serve the US was Abraham Lincoln. Many things separated Lincoln from other presidents of his time and currently. Abraham was the first republican president ever elected, he was greatly involved in war, and he passed the 13th amendment.

The first thing that made Abraham stand out from other US presidents was the fact that he was the first ever republican to serve in the house. This was a major step for the country due to the fact that the republican view was a change in the way the country looked at its issues. Before the US had solely looked through the eyes of democratic viewpoints, as a matter of fact the US had been this way for 15 presidents time. However, now for the 16th president there was a revolutionary person in the White House that would forever change the US.

This means that he was very interested and involved in war. Abraham had always been involved with the war in some type of way but his level of involvement changed during his time of presidency. During the time that Lincoln was serving the Civil war was occurring, and he was right in the middle of it. As a result of Lincoln's highly militaristic tactics and wanting to protect his country he led the US through the war. In the end of all the mayhem Lincoln and the US came out victorious! What Lincoln's bravery and effort showed during the war was that he was very passionate about his country and protecting it. This was a value which the best president must
