Why Barstow College?
One day while I was sitting at my tiny desk doing my repetitive and boring nine to five job I realized how much I hated it. That was definitely not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to do something gratifying, something that will bring a sense of satisfaction at the end of the day.
So after much research and soul searching I decided I wanted to go back to school and pursue a nursing degree. I was thrilled and beyond excited. Well, that was until I was awaken to the horrifying reality of tuition costs, and so I put my nursing degree on the top drawer of my tiny desk and continue doing my repetitive nine to five meaningless job.
After much frustration I finally decided to take it step by step and enroll in a public school. That is how I got here, to English 50 at Barstow Community College. Sure, it is not the university I wanted to attend and it will probably take me a year or two more to obtain my degree, but there are definitely many perks to attending BCC.
By attending BCC I will be able to save money and put away for when I transfer to a university. I get to spend more time with my daughter since school is close to home. I do not have to arrive two hours early for a class to find a parking spot; Hey I do not even have to pay for parking here!
Classes are small at BCC so I get to ask many questions and get more one on one help from instructors; it definitely enhances the learning experience when a Professor actually knows you exist. I also feel as if the small class sizes have had an impact on my grades.
Attending college has definitely helped me to get through the day at my boring job. Now, I have the certainty
