Growing up, I had friends of all race and color. You could be black, white, purple, or whatever and if I liked you, I was friends with you. I saw my friends as people and looked at their personalities before their skin colors. As I got older, I still remain friends with those people but, at the same time I had to realize to distance myself.
You know, I learned about slavery and everything in elementary and middle school and I understood that it upset black people to even think about it, but I figured everyone had looked past that. My question is, why don't we matter? Is it because our skin is darker? There is probably no one that can tell me what black people have done to make the world so angry. My skin color does not define me. It does not inform you how much money I have, how smart I am or the personality you will encounter when you greet me. Some people will never give me the time of day, because they only see the outside and not the inside.
My whole point is, the human race as a whole is beautiful. Black people are beautiful, intelligent, and extremely kind. Everyone is unique and has their own personality and maybe their skin is a different color from yours but you should still give them a chance. Stop killing our men, women, and children.
