From time to time, the proverb, ‘if you think education is expensive, try ignorance’ (Maree, 2010). Personally, education is demanding and expensive with reference to money and time. I am focused on going to college for I feel it will have a big and positive impact in my future and in those that I associate with today and in future.
In one of her interviews, the former First Lady of The United States Michelle Obama states that, “College is probably the most impactful thing I have done in my life, other than becoming the First Lady and having kids and marrying Barack Obama” (Minsky, 2016). Individuals such as Paul Laurence Dunbar who have been influential in the global community met their close allies in college (Minsky, 2016). Birds of a feather flock together. In college, I will get a chance to expand my social network and utilize resources in sports and art. These relationships will go a long way in controlling the future past that. I will meet up with people who we will share similar careers and maybe open up businesses later on. That is how visionary I am about college as I also predict to meet individuals of different backgrounds and learn more from them. Knowledge will not be acquired from books but also from travelling and interacting with people (Minsky, 2016).
In a nutshell, College is a bridge of my current situation to the future that I envision. This is inclusive of propelling my career as well as expanding social networks. Michelle Obama and Paul Laurence Dunbar are some of the great persons ever that convince me that college is paramount in attaining the social status and financial power that I
