What is Love

Love is a very strong word, very powerful word. What is Love? Do we define love as our heart, that we as human beings long to be with our so called soul mate. There are many different forms of what we called love. There is love all around us and we don't know it, it's in our parents, our friends, our teachers, and even the people who are who are homeless. We love as a community, as friends, as family, and as partners. As a community we love simply by caring and we share what we have, we give to charity, we volunteer at homeless shelters we do what we can. We just simply help out. Loving as friends takes the meaning of love to another level. Friendships can last forever or they can last three days, all it takes is a little love and hard work to stay friends for a lifetime. To love as a family is like loving friends but a bit more love! We love as a family sometimes because we have to! But we also love as a family because we choose to or we want to. Loving as partners is a whole new level of love it surpasses the other levels. As partners your love is physical. You are sexually attracted to this person and you truly do love this person we are ready to have this sexual relationship with them. Diotima said that "love is not a god at all but, rather a spirit that meditates between people..." I agree with Diotima because it is not a gods game it is our search for love that we want not a gods game or worship. Love is not about finding a beautiful woman or man and having children with that person it is about you finding the person your heart, soul, and mind can all love. Aristophanes said that we as humans were once twice of who we are and then Zeus cut us in half in order to punish us, and since then we have been looking for our other half or in other words our soul mate. I agree and disagree with this statement. I agree we all have our better half we have some soul mate or even multiple soul mates. There is someone out there for us but I disagree with
