To blend into the Viking village as being a time traveller from the 21st century you must be able to know how they lived and the culture from that period, it is not an easy process as us being evolved around technology and more sources than they had, to make life easy for us. I believe that the most important elements that a person must know about a Vikings daily life would be:
The values and beliefs as there are about 8 different gods that had to be looked upon; each god has a role of importance of life such as fertility, war, death, law etc…
There was one specific god that out ruled the others, he’s name was Odin the chief god of Norse mythology and the ruler of Asgard. And the father of Thor, Balder, Hoder, Tyr, Bragi, Heimdall, Ull, Vidar, Hermod and Vali. His wives were Fjorgyn, Frigga and Rind.
Another element that the Vikings had a specialty of was travelling and the structure of their ships. The Vikings travel to such places out of Scandinavia for e.g. Britain, France and Greece… Traveling had been a massive part of the Viking period as they were able to trade food, animals, slaves and merchandise around Europe. The Vikings were not the first people to build ships although they had the best built ships of that time, The longships are a part of the popular image of Vikings today but there were many ships built for different purposes, so far no boats have been found the same. Some boats have distinctive characteristics that less quality boats didn’t have.
