The importance of implementing work place policies and procedures when caring for an un-well child or young person in relation to the practitioners is to help them avoid any misunderstandings between parents, carer and other practitioners within the setting. The policies and procedures should be written in a clean language without any uncertainty. Information about individuals must always be kept confidential and parents and carers still have the right to know when there are concerns about ill health which might affect them or their families.
