Strategies to building a positive relationship with Mr and Mrs Khan are making sure that we create a welcoming atmosphere in order to make them feel valued as an expert on their children as they are the main carers in their lives who teach them all of the basics from a young age. It is important that we invite parents in to the setting in order to get to know them a bit better and also so they can be more involved with their children's learning. In order to build a positive relationship with Mr and Mrs Khan it is important that members of staff at Park Lane Primary School make positive and useful suggestions as to how you can work together in order to make sure the children are at the correct stage throughout their school year etc. Due to Mr Khan working away and Mrs Khan not being able to speak fluent English it is important that members of staff try and work around the times that Mr Khan work in order to keep them up to date on how their children are progressing by inviting them in to discuss their learning as often as they can or if Mr and Mrs Khan can't make it in to see a member of staff it is then up to us to either carry out home visits where Mrs Khan will be more comfortable or send home to school diaries home with the children so then they can see for themselves how well their children are getting on. …show more content…
It is important that we do not judge the parents for the things they do or do not do as it may be for good intentions and it is important to respect the way they do things with their children in order to keep a good relationship with them. If there is no relationship or trust between a parent and a member of staff then situations will not be resolved and we will not be able to support them as much as we want
