In this article a group of veterinarians, from University of Barcelona, Spain, explain the effects of stress on domesticated cats’ health. Stress can come to cats from many things from a change in the environment to a new member of the family. The effects from the stress can cause cats to express abnormal behaviors. The main effect from stress is lack of playfulness and fewer interactions with their humans. Stress can also become more severe and lead to things such as compulsive behaviors or even neglectful behaviors commonly related to grooming.
