1930s Reflection

This experience involved a lot of calculations and planning on my part, but it was interesting to see what families would have eaten in the 1930s. When I was planning the meal I had to cut back on many foods because they were so expensive. I did not have enough money to make all the potatoes I wanted to make. I also didn’t have leftover money for oil so I had to use sausage grease. While I was shopping I had to look for the best deal, so when I bought the potatoes I bought them in a five pound bag instead of by the pound. This saved me about 20 cents, which I was able to use for milk and cheese. I was suprising to see how little a meal could cost if you cut the portions.
