The differences and similarities of the 1960 and today
The 1960’s and Today aren’t that different and the times have changed no doubt about it ,but are they really that different. The things that have probably changed ,but not by that much are television, occupations, and fashion . They aren’t that different ,but aren’t all that alike thow.
In the novel Watson's go to birmingham the television was in black in white “While the family is watching the weather forecast on TV” and mostly watched the news ,but today it is all about the cartoons and crime shows that it is hard to find the black and white or watch the news. The children were marching, playing outside, hanging with friends, and some were even taken to for being the color that they are. Then you have today where most kids are on their technology, video games, and sitting in front of a television, so they don’t even realize what is going on around them, but the similarities are more than you think. Rarely you will see kids in the same neighborhood playing together ,but back then people were playing on the streets you lived on and roads were crowded.
Now people know all about fashion today ,it’s like if you wear the wrong thing the whole world would know in a heartbeat ,but we also have a bit of different taste then they did back then like they wore a uniform that Mao had chosen a young lady or woman would have worn a dress. Today is much different because people like to wear whatever they want because we were born to be tought that we have the freedom of expression. People also like to were there culture if they are from another place, but back then they wore their culture all the time. In conclusion there are many differences from today then the 1960’s ,but we shouldn’t ignore the fact that if where most of what we have today came from. There is still alot to learn from the cultures ,but we use most of it in our everyday
