George Orwell's 1984 takes place in a dystopian country after world war II. The book's topic are questioned in high schools across america and they have been banning because of the books negative affect on teens. Orwell's book has sex, violence, torture and everything that a parent wouldn't want their kids reading. 1984 should be banned due to its sexual content that could lead teens into sexual temptation earlier in their young adult life.
Kids who watch more sexual TV are more likely to become sexually active than other kids their age. If kids are interested in sexual activity they are more likely to want to watch shows or read these types of books. “Sexually explicit TV viewing is exactly the kind of thing adolescents would do if they were interested in becoming sexually active” (Elias). When kids watch TV with a lot of sex in it it pushes them to want to do it more, “A steady diet of sex saturated television might encourage teens to start sex earlier, a national survey of 1,762 kids suggest today”(Elias).
Another Reason why it should be banned is because it is sexest against women. The book is always putting women to a lower point than men in every situation. The book makes it seem like women are less superior in the way they think. “Women , less rational, less conscious, less aware, less committed to culture, less concerned with absolute truth”(Clarke).
Some People say that teens need to be exposed to these kinds of things before they get out into the real world. That is true, But it shouldn't come in something they read or watch, they need to be taught about it or it needs to be told by someone they respect and that will give them boundaries and
