American Citizens privacy should not be invaded without permission because we all have rights that apply to us, and they should not be violated unless we are acting suspicious or unless we are showing signs of being a threat to the country. The government has no right to go in innocent citizens information without the knowing. I believe the government should not go through people’s personal files because that is a sign of disrespect.

In 1984 it was just as bad except us citizens in this day in age we don’t have to report to anyone to do certain things. Also we don’t get tortured how the people in the novel 1984 got tortured and beat. But as far as privacy being violated, U.S. citizens can relate the only difference is we don’t have drones flying around through our neighborhoods and we don’t have people from the government busting in our houses. Some ways that we could relate would be how our government can see what we are doing at anytime. I say this because everyone has their own things that they do not want the government to know. Over the past year NSA has been breaking the privacy rules. In 2012 alone they have went threw over 2,776 american citizens files without permission. new powers in 2008. NSA still manages to overstep the authority to go through our private information. In 1984 Big Brother predicted the future telling everyone what society and what technology would be like in the future. In which the technology that Big Brother predicted that would come is actually here. Most americans are willing to give up personal privacy aspects for the greater goods for the society.
