1984 and Winston Winston’s character is a type of character where he really makes you want to interact with him. While reading you tell him things he should do. Yell if he makes the wrong decision, or support what he has done. You can really connect with him, in ways he describes things he is going through. He believes in one thing, ends up doing another thing. Despite what he actually believes in, he will follow the crowd, since he has no other choice. Winston is someone who throughout the whole book you can see is Naïve, trusting people too easily. He is a self-less person, tries to put others happiness/safety before his. He traps himself with it. The way he easily falls into Julia’s trap. Of trusting and loving her so easily. His lust for her is what provoked his gullibility in one sense. Julia had to trap Winston into believing their love is real, but in reality, Julia was part of the party. Julia, an undercover spy of the party. Her beauty blinded Winston. She used him, trying to be intimate with him, since the Party did not agree on letting them get-together. Although Winston can be someone who gets impatient and out of control, but the situations he is put through makes sense. He makes his gullibility appear much rather than he should to others. In 1984, many people fool Winston. One of them was Mr. Charrington. He dressed himself up as an old man, when he was actually in his 30’s. He gave him the diary for Winston to write in, free of his thoughts, what they party did not want. He caught Winston with
