The Industrial Revolution had a significant role in 19 century imperialism because of profit motives, markets and raw materials. “Hence, the profit motive, or desire to invest ‘surplus’ capitol promoted Imperialism” (Document B). The evidence directly states that there was a profit motive that had promoted Imperialism. It’s also says that European countries had a desire to invest surplus capital, which in turn lead to 19th century imperialism.
