2:03 am I woke to see my brother standing over me as he told me to pack some clothes and other things I would need. At first, I thought he was joking until I heard my parents downstairs; drunk and fighting. It hasn't happened for a while, but I guess things bubble up over time. I knew we were going to my grandmas from previous experiences so I packed a pair of clothes, my charger, and a pair of headphones. I stood in the hallway waiting for my brother to get his stuff ready. When he finished, we started down the stairs and out the door but we were stopped by our parents. He said he would take her with us but she refused not wanting to throw a marriage of 24 years away. After a while, he told her that his main priority was getting me to grandma's so he got in the car and left. The whole car ride to Carroll was silent aside from the radio with a song playing that neither us knew. We arrived at my grandmas house with her waiting at the window to let us in. She had made up the couch for my brother and readied the spare bedroom for me. As Keagen explained the events of what had happened that night to her I walked to the spare bedroom not wanting to be questioned. Until 6:30 am I tried to stay awake watching tv so I didn’t have to think about what had happened that night. As I was scrolling through Facebook, I saw a post that was reposted by one of my classmates. The post went on and told a story about two twin brothers who grew up with a single father with a drinking problem. One boy grew up to be a drunk like his father; the other never touched alcohol. When asked why they were like that they both responded because of their
