Chapter 1 Questions

1. Where do you think you will be and what do you think you will be doing in the year 2020?

In the year 2020, I will be 28 or 29 years old. There is so much that I hope to have done and hope to have become. I hope that by that time I am married, that God has brought the man that is best for me, who, with him, I am able to live and serve God better than I would if I were alone. I would also hope to have children. That God would have equipped me to be best mother. To be in the process of raising God-fearing children who live and desire to serve God with their very life. Children who will be better than I will be ever be, who have a calling of God on their life, and who lay their life down to pick up what God has for them. I also hope to have gone on several different mission trips around the world, seeing God move in amazing ways. But the ultimate prayer of my heart, would be that I could look back and say that I was obedient to God with all of my life. Yes I pray with all my heart that I impacted the Kingdom of God, that I brought souls to Christ. But more than that, that I was faithful in all that God asked of me. That it wasn’t about what I did, no, that it was all about complete and total obedience to God, that He would be able to say, “Well done, my good and FAITHFUL servant.”

2. What do the Steans mean on page 15 when they say that God wants to bless you, but not give you an easy life?

I believe the Stearns mean that the ultimate blessing that we can receive from God in this life is to be used by Him, to have walked in obedience to Him. It is in the times when we are faithful to Him, that we are made whole, because we are doing exactly what He created us to do, we are fulfilling our purposes.
