Huffington Entertainment interviewed 21st Century Fox ICG Publicists winner, Keanna Ward, a rising publicist in the entertainment industry. The ICG Publicists Awards honors excellence in publicity and promotion for motion pictures and television programs and spotlight the work of union publicists. Keanna won the Maxwell Weinbergy Publicist Showmanship Award in television for 21st Century Fox short mini-series, which is a PSA awareness short series on domestic violence with leading actress Taraji P. Henson.

Q. How did you start working in the entertainment industry?

How would you describe the corporate culture?

Keanna: 21st Century Fox culture is team-oriented, supportive and fun; it’s where you can share ideas and opinions. My department is about creating innovative communications ideas and practices to help the company display its movies, TV shows, campaigns and social responsibility internally and externally. Overall, the network is full of smart and knowledgeable professionals who know their industry well.

Q. Can you recall your most rewarding project you worked on since being with 21st Century Fox?

Keanna: I would have to say winning the ICG Publicists Award for 21st Century Fox’s Domestic Violence campaign in conjunction with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV). In today’s society, we forget about bringing awareness to causes that people are afraid to address and that’s exactly what we did during our campaign. I believe we were able to touch lives on a sensitive issue because of our storytelling and with the help of actress Taraji P. Henson and director Michael Apted.
