3.1 Who? – The C.I.A was founded in 1947 when President Harry Truman realised the need for an intelligence organization. In order to create a fully operational agency Truman Signed the National Security Act. There was an intelligence agency before the C.I.A that executed similar tasks which was named (OFFICE OF STRATEGIC SERVICES) which was disbanded in 1945. Some have stated that it was THE (OSS) that provided a basis model for the C.I.A, but other have denied and theorized that it was the British Security Coordination.
