The Three Theban Plays consist of Oedipus the King, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone. In Antigone, Antigone and her sister, Ismene, goes to Thebes to prevent their brothers from killing each other while fighting over the throne recently vacated by their father. Upon their arrival, Ismene and Antigone discover Eteocles and Polyneices died and Eteocles recieved proper burial rights but Polyneices did not because thier uncle, Creon, issued a decree forbidding his bural. Antigone believes her brother deserves a proper burial, so she breaks the law and buries Polyneices. Creon eventually catches her and puts Antigone in jail where she kills herself. Meanwhile, Creon agrues with the Chorus, Teiresias, and Hameon for Antigone’s release. Creon shows
