On July 4, 1908 the flag included 46 stars because of Oklahoma now being part of this country. Theodore Roosevelt and William H. Taft were the only presidents that had served their country under this flag. The 46th-star flag was official for 4 years until they decided to change the flag once again. They changed the flag again because they added two stars this time to the flag. This flag was known as the 48th-star flag. The stars represented New Mexico and Arizona in joining the nation. The stars were in eight rows horizontally and six rows vertically. Congress made it so that the top point of the star should be in an upward position. This flag was involved in World War 1 and World War 2. There were eight presidents that had served under this flag. Those eight presidents were William H. One interesting fact about the flag is that it has been around for more than 200 years. The flag has gone through 27 versions. At first the flag did not really have a particular pattern but then started to get somewhat of a pattern. The colors of the flag all have a specific meaning. The white stripes stands for purity. While the red stripes stands for hardiness and valor. The blue field stands for vigilance, perseverance, and justice. The white stars on the flag symbolize the heavens. All of these flags represent freedom, liberty, and justice. Flags are typically out on Flag Day. As you can see the flag has a lot more meaning to it than just a flag. It is one of our nation's most valuable objects in the United States. The flag is something that is cherished everyday by saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
