People usually select the place in which they want to live and others do not. Living in two different countries can be excited and also confusing. When someone is young he or she appreciates things differently than when he or she are older of course. Things that may fascinate someone when he or she are younger changes when they are older. Spain environment is different compared to Americas. Being in Spain at such a young age did not fascinate kids that were not from that environment because of such change that came about. It was literally living in two different worlds since the two places are so different in food, lifestyles, and environments. A kid that does not get to travel will never be able to adapt to different environments.
Santa Cruz, Tenerife was a Spanish speaking country on a small island in Spain. While Baltimore, Maryland was an English speaking state in the United States. Both experiences were enjoyable in some way, however me being so young the experience had a different effect on me. I thought being in Tenerife coming from Maryland should have been the different being so young I thought that it should have been like Maryland with the same food, lifestyle and diversity. However I was wrong Tenerife was less diverse and had a different lifestyle.
In Maryland I ate whatever I wanted after school and did what I wanted after school hours. In Tenerife I ate what they gave me at school and the choices were limited. Going to school for me was supposed to be fun not like boarding school, which is what it felt like having little control of what was wanted at the time. Even the kids knew I stood out of course I was black in Spain which can be rare. They were very few blacks me and my twin sister were literally the only ones
