Part 1

For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.

Physical health: The characteristics of physical health can include a few things but being at a good weight that is proportionate to their height is a good characteristic. Having some type of cardio is always a good activity to pursue in maintaining this. Physical health is most definitely in my daily routine I am always getting my heart rate up and trying to eat the right things to be sure I stay healthy.

Social health: Is being capable of having interpersonal relationships, having normal interactions in social situations and using appropriate behaviors in society. Social health is very important for over all good health. If your social health is not in order you would most likely be incapable of acting appropriate around others, and in society. In my life social health is very important not only when talking about my husband and I’s relationship, it is also critical when showing my children how to behave appropriately.

Intellectual health: Is the ability to think clearly, and have good deductive reasoning skills and overall knowledge and logic of basic concepts. Intellectual health is what helps us make good choices, learn from our mistakes and continue to learn and implement that newfound knowledge. Staying intellectually healthy is not only important because of my family but because it will help me adapt to the ever changing world around me.

Environmental health: The characteristics of environmental health are having respect for your world and to try in what other words means “go green”. Having environmental health for the world is a good thing because it saves you as well. When you are not polluting the air you are saving the world which includes the people around you. I am not much of a go green person but I try to recycle my garbage as much as possible, but I know there is more that I can do to help.

Emotional health: Using your emotions appropriate: I feel as if my emotional health is not very good at the moment, I use the wrong emotions at the wrong time and cannot control them always. I take a lot of things that I shouldn’t to heart and feel as if emotional health is one of my biggest weaknesses.

Spiritual health: Spiritual health includes an individual devolving a spiritual relationship with a supreme power or a higher being. An example of this in my life would include attending church.
