A1a. My 7 Habits profile shows an overall confidence in the effectiveness of my habits. My strongest areas included how I work with others and my ability to be proactive (categories 3 and 7). I see myself as always seeking to understand others’ points of view and incorporate those views into collaborative work (category 3). I am also proactive in the projects I take on and have a strong self-efficacy (category 7). I am empowered in my job to make important decisions affecting the future of the organization. According to the profile, my deficits are in goal-setting (category 4) and my ability to do “first things first” (category 5). This is not surprising to me, as I have often felt overwhelmed by the number of different responsibilities and priorities I have to manage in my job. …show more content…
My deficit in category 4 indicates that goal-setting is something I need to work on. By “beginning with the end in mind” one is more likely to end up with a positive outcome. My personal practices are healthy, as indicated by categories 1 and 9. Category 1 is about your “emotional bank account”, or how well you maintain relationships with others. This category is strong for me because I feel a deep connection with my work and my coworkers and so I go the extra mile to make sure I am taking care of them. Category 9 is about “sharpening the saw”, or maintaining self-care and overall well-being. I care about my physical self by exercising and eating (mostly) healthy food. I run about 15 miles a week and grow my own vegetables year-round, so this result was not surprising to me.
