To start with, 9/11 was a very important day in our history. When Islamic men crashed planes into the twin towers, many lives would be changed forever. Buildings fell and a lot of people inside and near them were killed. Innocent people that were on the planes also died and it was a very scary and sad time for everyone in the U.S. There was also a lot of economical damage and even to this day America is not the same as it was before September 11th, 2001. Now, many things have changed. Security is a lot stronger to make sure planes cannot be hijacked and people are usually judgemental of the Islamic people and believe they are “bad people” just because they don’t trust them any more.  If those men had never attacked America we would still have the twin towers today and many people wouldn’t have died as well.The Civil War was also a big part of our history. …show more content…

This was definitely a dark chapter in our history because many slaves were sold like livestock, treated poorly, separated from their families, regarded as animals, and they had no rights that white people had, even though this all went completely against our Constitution.
