The Late 90s and early 2000s was a melancholy time for the United States. It was a time of breakthrough advances in technology and depressing times of war and terrorism. Though, There’s one specific event that all American Citizens alive at that time remember. This event being 9/11, when two commercial airplanes flew straight into the World Trade Center towers. The motive for this attack was to strike fear into the American citizens, also known as terrorism. Through deeper history and context, we can fully understand the emotions of the American citizens and President George W. Bush at this horrific time in United States History.

On September 11, 2001, the terrorist group known as Al-Qaeda attacked the United States World Trade Center. The World Trade center had two buildings almost identical to each other. These buildings were both around 1,400 feet tall and had thousands of people working inside of them every day. They stood for 28 years until the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Many different Islam terrorist groups were harming other countries. For example, there have been many instances of when an Islamic terrorist individual ran innocent people over with a van. On the larger scale, there were times when Islamic terrorist group bombed big events. The U.S. has tried to stop these groups from harming the U.S., but there haven’t been as many attacks as big as 9/11. Nonetheless, terrorism still remains a big threat across the world. And the effects of 9/11 will never be forgotten. Moreover, there is a light that shines where the Twin Towers once stood every September 11. We do this to remember all of the brave souls who saved lives in those horrific times. Basically, we will never forget the attacks of 9/11 but we’re always looking for ways to prevent
