On September, 11 2001 the United States was hurt emotionally and physically. Many people still ask themselves why did this happen? Why did it happen to America and not another country? My mother told me that 9-11 was the most scariest events of her life. The story started when she was home taking care of me at the age of one. Sitting in the living room, she was watching a fashion show and Fox 5 local news stopped the fashion show and started to show what was happening with 9-11 . She told me that many people thought that America was going to have a war.In Washington, DC where I was born, my mother thought that our family were going to be in danger. My family was not only scared for our lives, but sad because one of her aunts was in one of the twin towers. My mother was also explained when the Pentagon in Virginia was hit by one of the airplanes. My father was working around this area and left his car in the middle of the st and started running for his life. My parents came to America when they were in their teens. They came here for safety and to give their kids a better life and education. My mother was sad and crying because she thought that she was not safe in America. 9-11 was an emotional event for the American people. The world is paying more attention to terrorism after 9-11. The story that I was told by my mother and by other people has made me think differently about how protected American people are. Before 9-11 happened terrorism existed, but no one paid attention to it as they do now. The security of the airports,communities and in big urban areas have increased.
