On December 7, 1941, and on September 11, 2001 the U.S. was deliberately attacked by foreign forces. On December 7, 1941 the U.S was attacked at Pearl Harbor by japanese air forces and submarines and they killed a total of 2,402 people, including 57 civilians, and another 1,282 were wounded. On September 11, 2001 was attacked again but by a terrorist group called al-Qaeda , four planes were hijacked. The first 2 planes crashed into the World Trade Center , The 3rd plane crashed into the Pentagon , And the 4th crashed in a field crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. A total of 2,605 people died that day. Both of these violent attacks were followed up with speeches from the presidents of the United States; Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote the Pearl Harbor to the Nation , and George W. Bush wrote the Address to a Joint Session of Congress on the 9/11 Attacks. Both speeches were to inform the nation of the current events and how they're going to act to bring justice.
