Borat is a 2006 British-American mockumentary comedy film directed by Larry Charles and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The film was written and produced by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen; he also plays the title character, Borat Sagdiyev, a fictitious Kazakh journalist travelling through the United States recording real-life interactions with Americans. Much of the film features unscripted vignettes of Borat interviewing and interacting with Americans, who believe he is a foreigner with little or no understanding of American customs. It is the second of three films built around Baron Cohen's characters from Da Ali G Show (2002–04). Ali G Indahouse (2002) featured a cameo by Borat, and the third film, Bruno, was released in 2009. Baron Cohen’s production company, Four By Two Productions, produces the film. "Four By Two" is Cockney rhyming slang for "Jew".

Borat falls in love with Pamela Anderson, after seeing her on “Baywatch” in his hotel room. He spends most of the rest of the movie trying to get to California to meet and marry her.

Borat meets with conservative former Congressman Bob Barr and serves him cheese, saying it’s a traditional gift in Kazakhstan. After Barr swallows it, Borat tells him it’s made from his wife’s breast milk. This shows that Borat has a different type of culture compared to Americans.

Midwesterners at a rodeo are depicted as anti-Muslim racists, bigots, and dummies. They’re supposed to be the bad ones for booing Borat when he purposely perverts the American National Anthem and says, “We support your War Of Terror.”

A Southern Evangelical Church finds Borat asleep in the sidewalk in front. They take him in and even give him a bus ride on his way to California. This scene shows the kindness of some Americans towards foreigners.

As most of the people talked to and interviewed in the mockumentary by Borat, the information and opinions/thoughts provided are real thoughts of random citizens in America, therefore many truths are revealed.

Sacha Baron Cohen through Borat reveals many truths; Borat reveals that some Americans are racist and discriminatory, such as Jews, Blacks and homosexuals. Each of these acts are shown throughout the film. Borat himself is treated like an outcast and is seen as a second-class citizen compared to others.

The plot of Borat is extremely interesting; Kazakh television personality Borat Sagdiyev leaves Kazakhstan for the "Greatest Country in the World", the "US and A" to make a documentary at the behest of the Kazakh Ministry of Information.
