Human Resource Management

In this presentation, we are going to define human resource management (HRM), and how
HRM of today differs from the past.

Human Resource Management
Human resources is defined as: A department within an organization that deals with the people who work for that organization. (Merriam-Webster, n.d. Web. 19 Aug. 2014).

Therefore, human resource management would be the management, in many aspects, of personnel for the success of the business in its entirety, i.e. the employees and the actual business.

Human Resource Management
Roles and Responsibilities of the past:

Hiring and firing
Payroll and benefits

Employee recruitment, selection, hiring, and firing
Payroll and company benefits (pay, insurance, 401K etc.)
