I want to be a Corps Clerk because I want to gain experience on how the Corps of Cadets works on an administrative level and to be able to help the Corps in a way that I would not be able to do solely as a member of an outfit. As a Corps Clerk I would be responsible for performing tasks for Corps Staff and transferring information to Major Units. In doing these tasks, I would be able to gain insight into the functions of Corps Staff and gain knowledge on how policy is transferred from the administrative level of the Corps to the individual unit level. Furthermore, by performing tasks for Corps Staff, I would be able to improve the efficiency of the Corps, allowing Corps Staff to focus on more important issues. Over the past year I have started to understand how the Corps works on an individual unit basis and how policy gets passed down through the Chain of Command. Being a Corps Clerk would allow me to expand my knowledge of the management aspect. This would help me greatly by providing knowledge that I will be able to us in the future as I would like to work on the administrative side of an Alternative Energy companies. Moreover, serving as a Corps Clerk would allow me to work directly with Corps Staff in order to gain valuable leadership experience which would help me in my Corps career and in my future career. Furthermore, I hope to gain a new viewpoint on the internal functions within the Corps of Cadets and how policy is transferred or adopted. This aspect of the position intrigues me the most about the position because the Corps functions on various management systems that work together. Getting insight on how this “machine” works would not only help me develop administrative knowledge that would allow me to become a more effective leader in the future, but also would give me the ability to be a more understanding
