The way my family and I celebrate Thanksgiving is some what different from others. One thing I do that's different is the food. My family has the normal,like turkey, mashed potatoes, a lot of desserts, and etcetera. One classmate I interviewed on how she celebrated Thanksgiving said, her family didn’t have all the normal food like my family had. Her family had hispanic type of meal. Her family only had like turkey, ham and the rest was hispanic like tamales and flan which is a hispanic dessert and etcetera. But something we did have in common was that we both had the same dessert flan for Thanksgiving.
But compared to the early Americans is was different as well. The way the early Americans celebrated their Thanksgiving food was miserable. They had rules on where you had to be seated. Rules for when and what you were gonna eat. If you were a rich person you would get the first pick on where you would sit and what food you wanted to sit the closest to. Because they had a rule that where ever you sat that all that you would be able to eat. So the poor would always get the seat s that were left over and the last food that was left that no one sat close to. Early Americans couldn’t also not be able to eat with a fork. Such as like my dad’s sisters and brothers that live here in Indiana and all my cousins. My family such as me my sister and two brothers always go out of state to Ohio. To celebrate Thanksgiving with my older brother’s family. The reason we celebrate Thanksgiving with my brother’s family in Ohio is because he doesn't live with us and so we go and visit him and spend some time with him.
