Introduction:
Gender Equality is the state in which access to rights or opportunities is unaffected by gender. This PSA promotes the understanding that gender equality can reduce extreme poverty and hunger and boost shared prosperity for girls and boys, women and men, around the world. The PSA begins with showing a family of five. A dad, a mom, a brother, a sister, and a baby. Women can live with dignity and not be afraid to be themselves. Women deserve to live the same way men do. Only if we work together we can stop this dreadful issue. Men have a tendency to to be in more power than women. This results in women's voices not heard as much as men. This PSA is trying to persuade us that if we all do somethings together such as “development organizations have to invest in organizations promoting gender equality” or “communities need to support women as farmers and leaders”. We can reduce extreme hunger and poverty, and boost shared prosperity for females and males. The audience is 10 and up because this is about a serious topic and uses unfamiliar words such as reinforced, implemented, prosperity, and many more. The music is a fixed pace and it also helps the viewer get into the mood. The music is effective because this is an issue and it can be solved so the music is in an average beat and is well according to the theme and message of the PSA. The images are effective because when the narrator is speaking and saying examples it will show them on the screen so people don't have to get side tracked about visualizing how the examples look e.g. From birth girls and boys, women and men are expected by society to play certain roles and behave in a certain way...these traditions are learned and shape the gender norms in society. “In this part the PSA shows images of all the things that girls and boys do in underdeveloped countries. There are also many places this happens throughout the PSA. The images are well used and make the PSA easier to understand and visualize. This PSA was very effective but the one non effective element is that the narrator of this PSA had an accent and some words were not understandable. The narrator is also speaking very fast. This makes some words not understandable which sometimes confuses the message of the topic. You don’t know if it is important because sometimes you cannot understand the words.
