A Psychological Analysis Of Marilyn Wedge's Medication

Marilyn Wedge believes that children with ADHD have been wrongly diagnosed and over medicated over the years and that their parents have been fooled into believing that their normal child needs a strong medication to function in society. I agree with her claims and can cite her testimony about Aidan as an ideal example. Aidan was a rowdy seven-year-old and a handful for his parents and teachers. Because of these behaviors, he was diagnosed with ADHD. Like many children, Aidan was prescribed medication for his ADHD. However, because of the side effects, his parents decided to try Wedge’s more holistic approach of changing his diet, adding exercise, and enforcing a strict schedule. As a result, Aidan’s behaviors drastically changed without medication.
