In the play, A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry, the Younger’s go through a life crisis but Mama, Lena Younger, seems not to worry much about it. Mama loves her family and shows she doesn't care about money and just cares about her family, showing she has morals, because she is caring, pays her daughter Beneatha’s schooling, and gives her son Walter her husband’s life insurance check from his death. Mama shows that she only wants the best for her children and goes through conflicting incidents to support them and help them attain a better life.
