This is a public service announcement so there is no company or product. In this ad there is a gun and instead of bullets there is a person hands putting cigarettes that are simulating bullets. This represents that cigarettes can kill people just like bullets can. Next to that image are facts on what smoking will do to the human body. Under the facts and the picture is a statement and question. The audience is people who are smoking or are considering to start smoking. Additionally it can be targeted to people who have loved ones that smoke. This advertisement is trying to prevent future smokers and stop current smokers from smoking.

It uses logos because it uses a metaphor and that it has facts about what smoking will do to a person’s body. Next this advertisement also uses pathos because it is trying to scare smokers into quitting and scaring nonsmoker so they won’t begin smoking.
The rhetorical strategies used in this advertisement are hyperbole, analogy, and a rhetorical question. This ad uses a hyperbole by simulating cigarettes as bullets and that is an exaggeration for emphasis on the fact that cigarettes can kill a person just like bullets can. Another rhetorical strategy this ad uses is analogy by comparing cigarettes to bullets to persuade the audience not to smoke. Finally, the last rhetorical strategy in this ad is using a rhetorical question. On the bottom of the ad it says “Smoking Kills… so why bother starting?”
