The most surprising thing that I learned from Pollan’s piece was that the supermarket is appearing to be more diverse throughout the years, when in reality all the “natural” products are actually man made processed foods. All of the products that are being processed contain one similar component which is corn. Everything we consume is not natural, how many supermarkets advertise these products. This affects my attitude toward food by making me double think what I should buy when I go to the supermarket. I ask myself whether I should continue eating the same products or if I should take into consideration where the products came from and what they’re actually made of.
