The 9/11 address, spoken by George W. Bush in 2001 after the terrorist attacks, describes what happened and what will happen in response. Bush’s purpose for this is to try and calm the citizens of his county and explain what had happened. He adopts a serious tone in order to show his audience that he is taking responsibility in doing the right things to help. In the first part of Bush’s address, he uses pathos.
