Johnson & Johnson is a medical manufacturing company that has helped change the lives of millions across the globe. This health company was founded over 130 years ago by Robert Wood Johnson I, James Wood Johnson and Edward Mead Johnson. The commercial created by Johnson & Johnson not only stands for something very important but it also opened the hearts of many people. A company as caring as this one created a real life visual of how important it is to not only help people but to appreciate those who have decided to help people for a living such as nurses. Through techniques such as Pathos and Ethos, this commercial surely did its job by making its audience take action in something much bigger then themselves. Sadness instantly affects the viewers as they see a sick child in a hospital bed, not long after her favorite nurse enters the room to give her medicine that she doesn’t like to take. Before doing so the little girl shows her favorite nurse a picture that she drew of him and they both laughed which tugged at the heart strings for the audience. He then proceeds to give her the medicine but before doing so they begin their favorite song to ultimately distract her for the medicine being placed into her arm. The nurse looks at her and smiles as they finish the song and he proceeds to ask her how she is feeling and he tells her she did a great job. Johnson & Johnson used an appeal to emotion on more than one occasion throughout the commercial. Even the toughest people can’t help but to feel empathy and intense emotions when witnessing this powerful moment.
