In 2016 the American people have been introduced to many different figures and speeches during the race to become president. While there have been many poor speeches there have also been many excellent speeches given. One of the greatest speech of this election came from Marco Rubio. Throughout this presidential race Rubio had been trailing behind both Trump and Cruz and had almost no chance of winning. This caused him to withdraw from the race. Although his last speech was given on March 3rd of 2016 it was still the best speech that he had given through the entirety of his campaign. Even though it was a somber moment for him he was still able to deliver a very heartfelt and meaningful speech full of purpose. Through analyzation of this speech it can be seen that Rubio follows many rules that define a well-rounded speech.

In analyzing an audience, you must know the target audience and how to affect them effectively. The audience should shape the different aspects of the speech. For Rubio his intended audience was all of America, primarily the voters that are undecided. His audience and purpose can be seen when he says “I ask the American people: Do not give into fear” (Speech). Since this speech was given at a rally type situation most of the people that were present during the speech were already supporters of Rubio and his beliefs. With this being said it is safe to assume that Rubio knew this would be broadcasted to his real intended audience over social media and television. Although his audience might have had access to his speech the real connection to his audience came through the emotional appeals and tones that he used.
