Nancy Duarte effectively implemented Aristotle’s tools of rhetoric, ethos, logos, and pathos, into her speech on the structure of great presentations. She used these tools to help make her point that anyone can change the world with an idea and to emphasize that the diagram for speeches that she created was the one used by many great speakers.
We see Duarte share her credibility to the audience when she says, “We’ve had thousands of presentations back at the shop… so I knew the context of a really bad presentation.” She is trying to show us that she’s seen many presentations, so she knows what she’s talking about and has had time to study what would make a good one.
