Throughout the book, A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park, the character Min projects flawed character traits. During the story, Min is portrayed to be a perfectionist that takes a long time to finish his work. One line that supports this statement is “‘Min, the tortoise potter!’” Found on page 46. This quote supports the statement because it shows that the townsfolk see Min as a very slow workers- tortoises are notoriously slow- probably due to the fact that he insists on his works not containing one flaw that he can see. Another example is “The yard was covered with pieces of pottery- hundreds, it seemed.” Found on page 85.
