In A Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe, we hear the story of a killer trying to murder a man. The killer takes us through a series of events leading up to and into the murder. But the question is, was he really telling us the truth? I believe that the narrator is unreliable. He is misleading the reader into thinking that he is innocent and tells the steps of the story possibly different than for what they actually are. I mean, who can trust a murderer, after all? I do not think he is telling the truth. For instance, in line 2 - in the very beginning! - he attempts to convince us that he is indeed not mad.
