A Ten-Year-Old Pit Bulls: Family Hero

People usually would say that Pit Bulls are vicious, but not Baby. Baby is a ten year old pitbull who is the family hero. The dog rescued her family from a house fire on two different occasions. Two sisters, Rhonda and Evelyn Westenberger, were sleeping in their home in Wellston, Oklahoma, where they lived for 17 years. The home bursted into flames while they were fast asleep. As soon as the house was in flames, Baby barked and barked and jumped on the girls trying to wake them up. She was successful in doing so. After Baby awoke the girls and they ran out of the burning structure, the other five family dogs were still in the house. Baby ran back into the house of flames and rescued them as well. “I’m so proud of her. She is my hero. She’s the hero for all of us.” said Westenberger. (Baby, 10-Year-Old Pit Bull). Now they are being slandered and victimized. “In spite of this, certain breeds such as Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and German Shepherds have been demonized and have been banned in certain countries and many U.S. states through the creation of breed-specific legislation, which targets them.”, according to Onegreenplanet.org (Why Pit Bulls Aren’t The Problem).
